Song of the Day: At the Beginning

It's Sunday! How have your weekend been?? I had 9 hours sleep after the busy week with the project in counselling unit, MPPC TalentCorp bootcamp and SEC Hons. Thus, just a simple post for today to share a song that accompany me throughout my study and exam week. At the beginning....

We were strangers starting out on a journey
Never dreaming what we'd have to go through
Now here we are and I'm suddenly standing
At the beginning with you

No one told me I was going to find you
Unexpected, what you did to my heart
When I lost hope, you were there to remind me
This is the start

And life is a road and I want to keep going
Love is a river, I want to keep flowing
Life is a road, now and forever
Wonderful journey

I'll be there when the world stops turning
I'll be there when the storm is through
At the end I want to be standing
At the beginning with you

We were strangers on a crazy adventure
Never dreaming how our dreams would come true
Now here we stand unafraid of the future
At the beginning with you

And life is a road, and I want to keep going
Love is a river, I want to keep flowing
Life is a road, now and forever
Wonderful journey

I'll be there when the world stops turning
I'll be there when the storm is through
At the end I want to be standing
At the beginning with you

Knew there was somebody somewhere
Like me, alone in the dark
Now I know my dream will live on
I've been waiting so long
Nothing's gonna tear us apart

And life is a road and I want to keep going
Love is a river, I want to keep flowing
Life is a road, now and forever
Wonderful journey

I'll be there when the world stops turning
I'll be there when the storm is through
In the end I want to be standing
At the beginning with you

And life is a road and I want to keep going
Love is a river, I want to keep going on
Starting out on a journey

Life is a road and I want to keep going
Love is a river I want to keep flowing
In the end I want to be standing
At the beginning with you

1st Post of the Year?? Confession??

Hey guys, great year ahead~~ This is my first post of the year, hmm.... what should I post about?? Wanted to post something on the resolution of the year but that might sounds a little boring to you. Thus, I'm changing my topic today and talk about CONFESSION. (Oppsss... The title is kinda misleading, I'm not trying to make a confession here, but to empower your confession. xP)

I think my 2014 started off great as I received 2 wonderful news from 2 of my babes. Both of them had finally got into a relationship. These 2 couples knew each other through the same events I attended. I was damn happy for them. Happy to hear their love story. I shall keep their identity anonymous.

How would I relate this to my topic today?? Confession plays an extreme role in any relationship. Whenever both parties are ready, it's the confession that kick start a relationship. So, how to ensure the success of a confession. (I'm assuming that it's the guy who made the confession, economists like assumptions. =P)

1)  Make sure he/she has the same feeling towards you.

How would you know a person feels the same as you? Both of you can go out for a date (this term may sounds kinda heavy, 'hangout' would be better word perhaps) and the feeling explains everything. For the guys, take the initiatives and ask the girl out, if she's willing to catch a meal or a movie with you, this is a good start.

For the guy, did you...
  • feel like holding her hand when she was sitting right beside you?
  • wish to make her laugh/smile?
  • try to protect her? (from the crowd or when crossing the road)
  • feel like dating her for the next time?

For the girl, did you...
  • hope that he could hold your hand?
  • just stared at him and said nothing?
  • aware of every single details of him?
  • always get the flashback of you and him after the date/meet up?

2)  Choose a date which is significant for both of you.

The date of your confession would be another significant date for both of you. Thus, choose it wisely!! You can choose a date/day which is easier to remember and have significant meaning for both of you. For instance, the date where both of you first met. This could be explained economically as well because you can save the cost for another anniversary celebration with the 2-in-1 package.

3)  Surprise and handmade gift/card can make a difference.

Do not just plainly tell her that, "I like you, can you be my girlfriend?" Undeniably, this is a powerful sentence but it would be more 'impactful' if you could prepare something special for her. It is not about getting her an expansive gift but it is the value of the gift. Please be aware that price=value. Let's make it sounds a bit more like an economist. According to Jevons and Mengers, the value of a good is not determined by the price of the factor of production whereas it is the utility of the consumer that decide the value of that good.

Let's get back to the gift part, you can prepare a simple card or letter for her. This is vary according to her character. Something handmade could show some sincerity of you and your love for her. It's not just about the gift, make sure you plan ahead. Procrastination can lead to sloppiness. You wouldn't wanna ruin the date. Make sure you have an 'agenda'/flow to build up the atmosphere and give it a hit at the right moment.

Remember this 1.2.3 and hope that this could help you on your confession. Best of luck for it. Hwaiting!!! Comment on this post and let us know more on how did your confession goes. =)
